Adults | Studio Watercolor Painting

$325.00
Only 2 available

This class runs on Mondays from 6:30-8:30pm, and runs September 23 - December 2. It is taught by teacher Michael.

This class is new at BellinghamART and is designed for students who already have some experience in watercolor painting. Weather you have taken Michael’s class before through us, or have been working on your own, this class may be a good fit for you. We ask that students who register inquire first via email to ensure that you are a good fit for the class. We are hoping to limit the class size to 8 in order for everyone to get the most out of this class.

This class will be set up as a working studio class, meaning that each student will be working on their own projects. Come with photos and ideas, we will also have photo reference here if you are unsure what to paint. Scattered throughout this class will be demos, and exercises/small class projects to help advance the students skills.

In this class long time local watercolor artist Michael Heath will be guiding students toward painting in a classical style with confidence. Material quality is extremely important with watercolors. We will be using a limited color pallet of Graham watercolors, specific watercolor brushes to achieve the right techniques, and Arches 140 and 300 lb paper. Michael is an expert in PNW landscapes and has lots to share. Come learn from a local legend!

In this class we will be using professional quality paints, paper, and brushes. We have a few specific recommendations for brushes. They are not mandatory for the class, but they are recommended. We will send you a supply list for them upon registration in case you would like to purchase them. Additionally, if you have any favorite watercolor brushes at home you are welcome to bring them in and get Michael’s opinion.
