9 years - teens | Felting, Stitching, & Fabric Art
This class starts September 25 and runs through December 4. It runs on Wednesdays from 4:30 - 6 and is taught by teacher Kari.
Back by popular demand! In this class we will learn the ins and outs of using different types of fabric, wool, and yarn. Through the 10 weeks of this course students will learn different types of embroidery stitches, and create a beautiful art piece with them. They will also get a chance to try felting; for students who have taken this course before, you will have the opportunity to try a more complex felting project. We will also try a type of fabric dyeing called Cyanotype and use what we create with it to create a piece of art involving our embroidery stitches. If time allows, we will work on some more hand-sewing projects as well. We are happy to be able to offer this class which will launch students into a new form of art which also has many everyday uses. We advise that younger students have good hand-eye coordination as we will be using needles.
No problem if you have taken this class before, we will have new projects and you can expand your skills.
